Country Pumpkin

I sold a video camera and wanted to replace it with a stills camera that does video for the smaller size - handy for mounting in cars and planes etc. Chose the Fuji X10 and it's an awesome little thing. This is the first shot out of the box.

Oxford Ramble - Valentine's Day 2011

My folks came to visit for a couple of days from north Wales, and we did the tourist thing in Oxford. I haven't shot any stills in such a long time, I asked Stef if I could borrow his old hopalong Canon 1D (yes - all of 4 MP!) and naturally he said yes dad as long as you buy me a car. Naturally. I took my venerable Pentax A*85mm 1.4 and shot a couple of dozen frames. These are the ones I liked. A kissing couple couple down busy Cornmarket, a pair of film students down same, and street views down St Aldate's towards Christ Church College and Ship Street. Cheers.

Blowing in the Welsh wind

Conwy (pronounced 'Conway') is a walled town in north Wales with a mighty castle protecting it from modern foreign invaders (e.g. the English! Although it was built by Edward I to keep the Welsh in line). A popular tourist trap in summer, off season it is a pleasant enough place with a good Italian restaurant, and, being only 15 minutes from my parents' house, convenient to get to. We piled into my dad's Japanese thing (thinks it's a Land Rover but fails miserably) and ascended the Great Orme and then descended on Conwy for a walk next to the river before dinner. It was blowing a real autumnal gale with showers so video was difficult. Stef (of course!) had no such issues with stills and here's a few of his offerings bolted onto a few of mine. Synchro Pair

I was doing some filming a few weeks ago and went for a swim with some girls. I was told to stay out of their way because they wouldn't be able to see me and would crash right through me. I could have used some flippers really, but I had a wetsuit and bouyancy aid on, and did fine. Camera is a JVC HM100 in an Epic housing, downrezzed to SD in a FCP timeline. I flopped them over and it 'does my head in' as my lad Stef says. Pretty cool the first time you see it. I wish I was that skinny again! Video and audio ©2010 Seeing Eye Productions Ltd.
