Utility Room

This was before any work. Boarded off under-stairs area.

The first job was to remove the old woodwork.

The tiling was incomplete. Fortunately we had some spares. Note part-tiles had to be dug up first! In fact there was damp in wall (stain) so all plaster off and treatment/replastering before anything could go ahead.

Laying the tiles.

Blocking out dimensions. Gaffer tape marks out the proposed walls.

Construction! Studwork going up, before fitting insulation (sound deadening for washer/dryer) and cladding.

Cladding on: chipboard with tongue and groove on top, a few bits of trim to finish.

Paintwork done, the utility room is complete. Just the skirting boards to go on. This was early 2006.

Finally, now in 2014 we get to the last little bit! Need to tidy this gap up.

Triangular panel with hidden catches snaps into place. Handles for now, might seek more elegant solution...in about 8 years!

Stefan Cottrell-Tumilowicz standing next to his entry in the final exhibition at the end of his first year at London South Bank, studying BA Hons in Digital Photography. The work is a series of 9 prints depicting satellite imagery of London with an area of view having inserts from different parts of the world, to scale, relevant to the exhibition brief of incorporating peers and colleagues. In this case, the inserted locations are of the houses and areas of people from across the globe. Hours of work have produced high resolution images with quality printing giving excellent detail. The exhibition is on at The Clarence Centre, 6 St George's Circus, London SE1 0AE until summer 2015.
